A Toolkit for a Happier, Healthier Life: An Intro to Buddhism Mini Retreat

Are you curious about how Buddhism can be integral to your own mental health and happiness? Do you want to build resilience and make meaning of hardships and challenges? Ever wanted to experience our interconnectedness on a visceral level?

Our mini-retreat with Susan Shannon will unlock the myriad ways Buddhism can help us cultivate a robust toolkit for a more enriched life. She will lead a discussion about how you can use the basics of Buddhism--The Four Noble Truths, Eightfold Path, and Six Perfections--as your own daily spiritual assessment toolkit, formed to fit to your daily life.

The retreat will also feature a session of Tibetan Yoga (called Lujong), which will invigorate your body and mind while centering and stabilizing your being. This will be facilitated by Trinity Rose and Gitte Dobrer, who lead the Tuesday and Thursday Lujong classes at Sukhasiddhi.

Sukhasiddhi’s Monday night Meditation teacher Barbara Juniper will conclude the retreat with a guided group meditation. Meditation is one of the tools that we can use to discover the eye of the storm that is within each and every one of us. Meditating in Sangha is a completely different experience than meditating alone.

We will conclude this powerful event with a dedication of positive merit to all sentient beings.
